We know that domestic abuse survivors can become isolated from friends and family. If it feels like you have no-one to talk to, our peer support lounge might help you to start building your support network and – eventually – move forward from your experiences.

The sessions provide a safe environment for you to come together with other survivors of domestic abuse and get involved in a range of different sessions – all focussed around the five ways to wellbeing: connect, take notice, keep learning, be active, and give.

Sharing your experiences

Our peer support lounge gives you the chance to share friendly conversation with other domestic abuse survivors over a good brew in a safe space. You’ll also get to explore topics such as:

DOMESTIC ABUSE AWARENESS

EMOTIONAL WELLBEING

SELF-CONFIDENCE & IDENTITY

BUILDING CHILDREN’S RESILIENCE

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Kick back & relax

As well as awareness-raising sessions covering a range of relevant topics, there are loads of different activities for you to get involved in. Some of them include:

ARTS AND CRAFTS

MINDFULNESS

WRITING FOR WELLBEING

Consultations & feedback

During peer support lounge, we run monthly consultations to gather your feedback on our services. We include external services such as the police and social care in these consultations, giving you the chance to share your voice and help change the way we do things for the better.
