Amplifying Voices in 2021

There is no doubt that 2020 was an incredibly challenging year for everyone.

Forging new routes for us to be able to carry on delivering our essential services has been paramount.
The voices of our clients will always remain a priority and there are many things we have learnt from working remotely.
We are proud of what we have been able to deliver, this has been done through our making sure that the voices of our clients remain a priority. Whilst 2020 and into 2021 is still difficult we have been able to:

  • Be key influencers of policy changes at a national level working with the victims’ commissioner in respect of the DA BIll

  • Work with CAFCASS and Safe Lives through our work with our survivors, we act upon what we are told.

  • Continue our work with perpetrators and want them to receive non-judgmental support where they feel safe. Our team are skilled at building rapport.

  • Shared our Monkey Bob work for early years children across schools in Cheshire and beyond.

  • Carry out an engaged project across the county where we worked with both perpetrators and their families.

Over the last twelve months, we have been proud to have worked with 1,725 adults and children across remote platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom delivery coffee and chat sessions, counselling 1-2-1s, telephone counselling, finding safe accommodation and play therapies.

Continuing our support for survivors

We are incredibly proud of the continued work we have been able to do, despite the challenges of Covid-19, and a perfect example of this are our survivor stories and in particular that of Abi, whose sheer grit and determination has led the way to national changes in the probation service, protecting the rights of women.

House for life

We are proud to be able to offer those in desperate need supported accommodation - our refuge costs £200,000 per year to maintain - and it is the support of our fundraisers and donators that mean we can continue to offer this.

We work to break the cycle of abuse by working with local landlords to support a family in their new home for a whole year.

Our 360 approach to families and the counselling that each and every individual may need, means that we are able to ensure each and every person who has a touchpoint with My CWA with be dealt with in an empathetic manner and their voice will be heard and supported. Amplifying voices of all families dealing with domestic abuse is and always will be our mission and goal.
