Covid-19 Update

As we’re sure you’ll appreciate, Covid-19 is presenting us with a complex and rapidly changing situation.

Given the government guidance to reduce social contact and non-essential travel, we’ve made the unprecedented decision to cancel all group and face-to-face work with immediate effect, including our Coffee & Chat peer support groups in Crewe, Macclesfield and Warrington.

If you’re waiting for an assessment for yourself or your child – or if you’re currently being supported in a group or with a specific support worker – a member of our team will be in touch with you by phone to discuss how this work will be completed.

We know these are worrying and extraordinary times, but we want you to know that we’re doing absolutely everything we can to continue supporting our community as we have done for more than 40 years. We’ve had no confirmed cases of Covid-19 among our clients or staff so far.

We’ll provide regular updates on our website and on social media and you can call us 24/7 on our helpline – 01270 250390 – if you need us.

Please remember:

The key symptoms for Covid-19 are:

  • a high temperature (above 37.8 degrees) – you feel hot to touch on your chest or back

  • a new cough

If you’ve experienced either of these symptoms, you should self-isolate with your family, including everyone in your household, for 14 days. Don’t go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. Visit https://111.nhs.uk/ for the latest advice.

Current government advice is also to reduce unnecessary social contact, non-essential travel and to avoid pubs, restaurants, theatres and cinemas. Avoid events with large groups of people.

If you have any underlying health conditions or are over the age of 70, please access online advice to see if you need to take additional precautions to maintain your health. We’ll continue to update you as often as we can during these uncertain times.

Take care,

Saskia Lightburn-Ritchie
